Aesthetic Muscle Journal May 5th: Lower Abs Workout

In today’s behind the scenes workout footage you’ll see the abs workout I performed to target (place greater emphasis on) the lower abs.

As always, you get to see every meal I ate today…

@0:12 Breakfast
@0:40 Lower Abs Workout

@3:10 Dinner
@3:27 Snack

Here’s my meal breakdown for the day…

Breakfast: approximately 450-500 calories
Full Strength post-workout shake: 300 calories
Snack: ??? calories
Dinner: ??? calories
Snack: ??? calories

Total calories: ??? definitely stayed well within my caloric deficit target.

Here’s my activities for the day…

Chest Workout from Phase 5 of AMP – Aesthetic Muscle Plan.
10 minute calve workout
10 minute abs workout
10 minute HIIT on the spin bike (20 second sprints, 40 seconds recovery)

The abs workout included two supersets, which places greater emphasis on the lower abs.

Although it’s impossible to train the lower abs alone… there are exercises that allow for greater focus on the lower abs.

Those exercises typically involve curling your pelvis toward your chest. This is the opposite of crunching movements, which curl your shoulders toward your abdomen… which places more emphasis on the upper and middle aspect of the rectus abdominis muscle.

Exercises such as knee raises, reverse crunch, and the jackknife are great for placing more focus on the lower abs… which is why I included them in today’s workout…

Perform 3 sets, while aiming for 10-15 reps for each exercise.
A1 Knee Raises
A2 Jackknife

Perform 3 sets, while aiming for 10-15 reps for each exercise.
B1 Reverse Crunch on incline bench
B2 Spiderman

My Current Stats:
5′ 7″
155 lbs
38 years old
