Would you like to see more behind the scenes footage of what I eat and how I train? I already consider myself as quite the ‘open book’… but I feel the time has come to pull back the curtain even more.
I want to paint the clearest picture of what the Physique Artist Lifestyle is all about… the good and the not-so-good. The emotional challenges along with the triumphant victories. You’re going to see me in the most vulnerable conditions as well as my peak states.
I’ll kick things off by sharing exactly what I ate yesterday, the supplements I take (very few), and give you a glimpse of my training session.
My daughter made us dinner… it was a delicious treat.
Here’s the caloric breakdown for the day…
Breakfast: approximately 500 calories
Post Workout Shake: 300 calories
Lunch: approximately 500 calories
Dinner: approximately 700 calories
Total calories for the day: approximately 2000 calories
Supplements…
5 grams creatine monohydrate
200 mgs caffeine (pre-workout)
Full Strength shake (post-workout)
Here’s the training breakdown…
Today was a heavy lifting session (4-6 reps) focusing on back, chest, and legs… using compound exercises.
I brought my dog Chief for a 30 minute walk, which includes a lap around the park as I toss him the ball. (check out the video footage)
Here’s some insights from the day…
After seeing my lower abs begin to wash away I decided to begin a fat loss phase two days ago. I’m aiming for a moderate deficit… nothing over aggressive.
Yesterday I was all fired up to get ripped, so I performed the Ninja HIIT-cardio. It felt great!
But, when you combine the cardio yesterday, plus two days in a deficit… it was a recipe for reduced strength during today’s training session.
So, next week will be a test. I will use Sunday as my refeed day to fuel up on carbs and eat up to maintenance or slightly above. It will also be a day of complete rest (other than walking my dog).
It will be interesting to see if my strength improves as a result. I really want to get 4 plates on the trap bar.
…speaking of which… next month I’m going to start working in the Olympic bar for deadlifts. It’s been a long time. I find the trap bar much more comfortable… but it may be time to step outside of my comfort zone.
I hope you enjoyed this behind the scenes look into my daily meals and training… be on the lookout for more great footage.
