I have been following Pete’s body transformation journey for the past two years and have to say, his story sounds a lot like mine. After a couple attempts at getting ripped abs, he finally went that extra mile and did what he had to do to achieve his goal.

Highlights From Pete’s Body Transformation
1) Consistency: Pete had a plan in place and dedicated himself to following through with near perfection… even during his out of town business trips. As a result of his dedication and unstoppable mindset he demonstrated incredible consistency with his transformation, averaging between 0.5% and 1% body fat release throughout the entire 14 week journey. I believe that this played a key role in allowing him to stay the course.
2) Tracking: Pete logged his entire process and charted his results on a weekly basis. This was crucial during the times when he wasn’t seeing visual results in the mirror or progress pics. His stats provided the evidence that he was progressing in spite of what he was seeing.
3) When You Will See Your Abs: Pete is one of those guys who’s genetics require that he becomes ultra lean before his full six pack abs pop out. This can make it very frustrating when you are putting in a load of hard work without being able to see the results.
What Pete learned from this attempt at getting ripped is that he stopped just short of success on previous attempts simply because he wasn’t seeing his abs when he thought he should.
Some people even questioned the body fat percentage numbers that Pete was reporting, because his abs were not clearly defined. Yet at the end of the journey, nobody questioned how lean he actually was.
4) How Much Cardio/HIIT is Required: Pete listened to his body, allowing adequate recovery from cardio/HIIT so his workouts wouldn’t suffer. As he gradually progressed with more HIIT in addition to daily walking, he realized that his body recovers quite fast and can handle a greater frequency of HIIT compared to many others. During the final weeks he really cranked it up. Typically I recommend 2-3 HIIT sessions per week in addition to some steady state cardio, but Pete could handle more. It just goes to show the importance of your feedback loop and paying attention to how your body responds to training and diet.
5) Meal Plans: Pete followed the Metabolic Masterpiece meal plans to a “T”… including the 33 Days To a Picture Perfect Physique where you really dial in your nutrition. These meal plans are based on the teachings in the Burn The Fat Feed The Muscle nutrition bible.
6) Booked a Photo Shoot in Advance: Pete took my advice and booked a photo shoot in advance. There are several benefits to this. a) accountability, b) ties in an event with your goal deadline, c) great way to capture your body as a work of art and the rewards of your great effort.
