I recently had the great opportunity to workout with Mike Chang, creator of Six Pack Shortcuts and Insane Home Fat Loss. Mike definitely walks the talk. He’s ripped and jacked! Here’s a fun moment where we were comparing the size of our gunzzzz…..
Mike is one hell of a driven guy. He’s got that “Eye Of The Tiger” attitude… and I learned some valuable lessons from my time with him…
Numero Uno… Mike thrives on building people up. For example, he has a staff of approximately 25 men and women. He has healthy and delicious meals prepared for them and it’s required that they exercise every day.
I spoke with some people on his staff who were not into fitness at all and didn’t enjoy it, prior to joining Mike’s team. Yet, they viewed this ‘exercise requirement’ as an opportunity. A form of accountability.
What I dig about this approach of building people up, is that you end up surrounding yourself with like-minded people. You know your co-workers won’t be tempting you by bringing junk food into the office.
During our time together Mike trained harder and more frequently than anyone else. When I asked why he wasn’t taking a break from training like most of us, he informed me that he was recording a bunch of videos in a few days time.
…and since Mike films all of his videos with his shirt off, he needs to be in tip top shape at all times.
This is some serious accountability. It’s the same reason why I like to post shirtless photos of myself on Facebook. It has little to do with vanity… and more to do with holding myself accountable.
Mike is the epitome of the Six Pack Lifestyle. While some people seem to think getting 6-pack abs is all about deprivation, choosing to use phrases such as, “I’d rather live a little”…. Mike is having a blast and living to the fullest!
His energy and zest for life is contagious. He’s the kind of guy who brings out the best in you.

PS Mike is a bit of a celebrity as a result of his popular YouTube channel.
Funny story… we were in a convenience store to stock up on bottled water, when one of the employees recognized Mike and shouted out, “Hey, you’re the Six Pack Shortcuts guy!” This guy was stoked to meet Mike in person… and this type of thing happened throughout the entire weekend.
Mike embraces this ‘celebrity’ status and certainly appreciates his fans. It was really cool to see how he handled it all.
