These are not exercises where you want to show off your strength. Use light weight, which allows you to execute a full range of motion for 10-15 reps. Perform 2 sets for each exercise.
I must warn you… although the weight is light, you will be sore between and around your shoulder blades the next day.
I became aware of the importance of these exercises while practicing the front relaxed pose and lat spread as I prepared for my first natural bodybuilding competition. I lacked the mind-muscle connection to maximize the aesthetic appearance of my back.
Not only did these exercises improve my posing routine, but I quickly discovered serious improvements with the other back exercises that I performed within the workout.
