When it comes to body sculpting, THIS is exactly what I’m talking about… There’s been an awesome conversation being discussed in Tom Venuto’s Burn The Fat Inner Circle, which was started by a fellow “Burner” Robb, who stated, “I find myself really liking the look of a well defined serratus anterior – just looks so amazingly powerful.” Robb went on to ask if there were specific exercises that help develop this muscle in particular.
The conversation itself has been awesome, but what excites the heck out of me is the fascination that Robb had with these small muscles. It’s this “Attention To Detail” that defines a physique artist or body sculptor. This is the “Next Level” stuff that I’m talking about. Not just settling for a decent looking body, but really living to your potential and carving out a beautiful work of art with your body.
By the way, if you are not familiar with the Serratus Anterior muscle, it’s those three little muscles that look like fingers coming out from under the lats. They pop out more than the oblique muscles, which are directly below the Serratus and tie into each other in a visual sense.
This fascination with the the masterpiece of our human body usually evolves over time as you progress with your body sculpting journey. The more that you challenge yourself and the more that you see visible changes with your body, the more fascinated you tend to become with what you are capable of sculpting with your physique.
Take Robb for instance. In the Summer of 2008 he weighed 410 pounds. He has since released 241 pounds from his body. I’m sure that back in 2008, the last thing that was on his mind was developing a remarkable Serratus Anterior muscle 😉
…But as you progress on this journey you begin to crave more! You begin to think to yourself, “If I have already achieved this goal, what else am I capable of achieving?” You begin to look at your body with a critical eye, examining every fine detail. You take great pride in what you’ve been able to sculpt thus far. You look at yourself with admiration. You look at yourself as a work of art.
This goes beyond vanity. This is about personal growth. This is about making the most with the gifts that you’ve been granted.
This is why I love surrounding myself with like-minded people. This is why I LOVE Tom Venuto’s Burn The Fat Inner Circle. The discussion that is going on in this particular thread about the Serratus Anterior muscle has really fired me up and helped me visualize the next level that I will take my physique. The other benefit of belonging to a community with like-minded people is that you get to see what’s possible when you complete your goals, how it impacts your life, and how it impacts your mind.
If people were to only see Robb as he is right now, they may assume that he’s been fit all of his life and is completely fascinated with the art of bodybuilding. When they discover that he was once 410 pounds they would be blown away. This gives you something to really look forward to. The way that I see it, many people spend their life trying to lose weight and never really getting there. Robb set his sights on his goal, released the fat that he wanted to, and now he’s focused on building muscle and adding calories to his meal plan. How cool is that?
This is the biggest reason why I created the Metabolic Masterpiece blog. My goal is to make this a community type atmosphere and I want to surround myself with like-minded people who want to live to their potential, take their physique to the next level, and create the life that they know deep down inside they deserve.
I value your friendship and I am just as fascinated with your body sculpting journey as I am with mine. I appreciate you joining me in this journey.
As I wrap up this post, I have one question to ask you, “What’s your favorite muscle that you are fascinated with?”
