Physique Training, I absolutely freak’n LOVE it! I anticipate each workout with incredible enthusiasm. Next to quality time with my family, getting a pump on and lifting some heavy shit is my favourite part of the day.
The moment I walk through those gym doors, all of life’s distractions melt away. By giving myself permission to let go of my daily demands, I am now free to explore and unleash the greatness within me. This is my time!
The gym is my serenity. It’s where I become one with the iron, while feeling completely in-tune with my body. I soak up the entire experience with a heightened sense of awareness for every process that’s taking place in my body. Every contraction, every breath, and every heart beat pumping blood to my working muscles.
I marinate in the burning sensation at the end of a set. I thrive from the challenge of stepping outside my comfort zone, while testing the limits of my human potential.
With each rep, my mind-muscle connection becomes stronger. My ability to steer the neural drive toward the target muscle becomes AMPlified, creating insane muscle tension and the most incredible contraction possible. I train for the ‘feel’, and damn do I ever LOVE that feeling!
I become playful from one set to another by making slight alterations to grip, stance, direction of force, and intention. Most of these adjustments aren’t visible to the naked eye, yet they make a tremendous impact on muscular tension. Squeeze the bar with a little inward or outward force during a Bench Press or Pulldown and you’ll feel the difference. If I intend to feel the Vastus Medialis (tear drop) taking on the brunt of the load during a Leg Press, I can do so by relaxing or ‘dialing down’ the activation of the Vastus Lateralis and hamstrings.
Having a structured and progressive Physique Training program AMPlifies my enthusiasm for the upcoming workout. I know exactly what I’ll be doing and get excited with anticipation of achieving the progressive goals for the workout.
Changing my Physique Training plan every 4 weeks keeps my enthusiasm sky high. It’s a new opportunity to experience the unique muscular adaptations that different Physique Training protocol create. The beauty of Physique Training is that there are a boat load of training protocol to pique your curiosity and experiment with. The variety brings a great deal of joy to the process of sculpting your body into a chiseled work of art .
The gym atmosphere brings about a sense of belonging. The camaraderie between goal driven Physique Athletes is magical, as they challenge each other to give their absolute very best effort to each and every rep. They feed off of each others positive energy. The success of one fuels the success of the other.
I’ve nurtured this love of Physique Training over time. Initially it was a means to an end… get cut and jacked. But as my relationship with the IRON evolved, I gained an appreciation for how it shaped me as a person, beyond the physical transformation. Physique Training grounds me in the present moment.
With an open mind and a heightened sense of awareness, the process became much more fulfilling than the end result. Through this amazing journey of self-discovery, I found incredible happiness. Simply by being true to myself, following my passion, and sharing my journey with others, every workout has become a building block toward fulfilling my life’s purpose.
As you can see, when I hit the gym it’s so much more than just a workout. It’s my legacy in motion. It’s not so much how I grow physically from each workout, but how I grow emotionally and spiritually that will help me in my journey of making a very positive impact on as many lives as I can.
This feeling and attitude toward Physique Training, is my magic pill. But unlike supplements, this magic pill breeds compliance and consistency as it shapes my character, just as much as it shapes my body.
This is the key to long term success. Training because it’s become a part of your being, bringing out the best in you so you can bring out the best in others.
I hope that my enthusiasm for Physique Training has rubbed off on you today. Now it’s time for you to nurture your love for it too.
Have a Plan. Without a plan you will waste precious time trying to figure out which exercise you should do next, what training protocol to use, how much weight to lift, how many reps you should perform, and what tempo to use. In this state you are more open to distraction. Instead, have your plan ready in advance. One that has you focused on progression, getting you excited to improve from week to week.

Clear Your Mind. No matter how tough your day has been and how much you still need to get done, once you walk though those gym doors you need to let that shit go. When your workout is done and you’ve shown yourself what you’re really made of, you’ll be able to attack the rest of your day with a fresh, vibrant outlook.
Become Playful. With a clear mind you will feel a shift in muscular tension with slight changes in grip, stance, force, and intension. The quality of every rep will become exponentially greater.
Connect With The IRON! Once it’s in your hands, the iron becomes an extension of you. For the next 40 seconds (give or take a few), you and the iron are one. Together you create the necessary resistance to ignite targeted muscle growth. Embrace it.
Try Something New. Each month, introduce a different Physique Training protocol to your workout plan and see how your body responds. Straightsets, dropsets, supersets, trisets, giantsets, rest-pause sets, 100 rep sets, Myo-reps, 8×8, 10×10, 5×5, pyramids, blood flow restriction, heavy negatives, and the list goes on and on. Have fun with it.
Build Camaraderie. Most people in our lives can’t comprehend our passion for Physique Training and self-growth, but your fellow Physique Artists do. Build friendships in the gym. Feed off each others successes. Challenge each other to strive for your potential. Lift each other up and bring out the greatness in everyone around you.
