We recently invested in a Blendtec blender and instantly became hooked on green smoothies. It’s a convenient and delicious way for me to increase my consumption of veggies and fruits. These smoothies are jam packed with micronutrients, which are just as important for us bros and physique athletes to consume as our macronutrients.
I have a green smoothie first thing in the morning to jumpstart my day. I definitely notice a boost in energy and dare I say, clarity at the expense of sounding a bit hippie 😉
Often times I’ll have a green smoothie post workout as well. In the past, my main concern was simply blending up some protein and fast digesting carbs in my post-workout shake. I never dreamed of adding spinach or kale to a post-workout shake. Now my body is being rewarded with quality macronutrients and micronutrients to fuel muscle repair and growth after sculpting my body during an intense physique training session.
Here are some of the green smoothie recipes I’ve been consuming;

It almost seems like you can’t go wrong with what you add to your smoothies. Every single one has been delicious. Next I’m going to experiment with using almond milk instead of water, or maybe even some coconut water. I also will try adding some nuts or avocado, but I may wait until I’m out of my cutting phase to give that a shot.
I hope you enjoy these recipes. I’ll be sharing more very soon. If you have any green smoothie recipes you’d recommend I try, please do not hesitate to share 😉
