This week the annual Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was on television. Unfortunately nobody reminded me of this until after it aired. Fortunately I can catch highlights and watch playbacks 😉
Two days later, a very well written article called, Why 6-Pack Victoria’s Secret Model Abs Actually Aren’t All That Healthy, was published on Yahoo.com with great quotes and insights from Molly Galbraith (who I adore), and Jill Coleman.
In Episode 05 of the Modern Musclehead podcast, my co-host Bryan Krahn and I share our thoughts on these Victoria’s Secret Models with their carved out abs and whether women should strive for such a goal.

There are some really great messages and insights throughout the article. The bottom line is that getting ripped abs requires focused effort.
Sure some of us make the process more difficult than it needs to be. Some make the mistake of running themselves into the ground all in the name of achieving ripped abs. Some find it easier than others.
There are moments when the fat loss process ‘feels’ effortless to me, but that’s because I’m completely in the zone and enjoying the challenge. I follow a moderate deficit, love every second of my resistance training sessions, and don’t run myself into the ground with excessive cardio.
I love having ripped abs and I find it attractive when I see women with abs (The picture above features my wife’s abs). Both my wife and I can live life to the fullest while maintaining abs. Most important, we are incredibly healthy while sporting six pack abs year round.
But we fully recognize that ripped abs may not be in the cards for everyone. It may be unhealthy for some people to try to achieve such a goal.
It’s also important to note that although I get very excited when I see fit, healthy Victoria Secret Models with ripped abs, I also get very excited when I see strong, fit, athletic women who do not have abs.
Enough of my ramblings here… hit play above or download it to your iPod to listen to our full discussion.
The other hot topic we cover is in regards to a recent study about high fat diets.
Bryan and I also share some updates on how our training has been going.
Enjoy the episode… and as always, we appreciate your feedback. If you have any topics you’d like us to cover in future episodes, feel free to send us an email or post them in the comment section below.
