By Scott Tousignant on June 20, 2017

Pull Ups

Note: this is a guest article by John Sifferman, author of The Pull-up Solution.

Pull-ups and chin-ups are some of the best exercises for building strength throughout your whole upper body. They also happen to be some of the most effective muscle builders for your back. Ask any bodybuilder or physique athlete, and they’ll tell you pull-ups are a main-stay in their back training because no other exercise builds a better back than pull-ups, chin-ups, and their many variations. Plus, they can do wonders for your arms, shoulders, and abs, too. Of course, there are other exercises you should prioritize for your back development. But if you want to bring out the best in your back and upper body muscles, you’ll want to get really good at pull-ups and chin-ups.

Now, this is easier said than done because pull-ups are a very difficult exercise for most people. So, you’ve got to be smart about training them or else you end up injured or getting nowhere. The solution is smart training. So, in this article, you’ll learn some of the best strategies to increase your pull-up numbers and use them to build a beautiful, powerful back. Physique Goals Are Great, But…

By Scott Tousignant on June 16, 2017

physique goals

How did this happen? How did daddy’s little girl grow up so fast?

Obviously, physique goals are important to me. But what’s of greater importance in life are the things that bring deeper meaning to you and those around you.

As Noelle’s grade 8 graduation approaches I find myself pausing and reflecting on our time together. I realize there have been moments when I took time for granted. When I thought that missing a moment would pay off and create even better moments in the future.

There is no trading time. All we ever have is this moment right here and now. And as I see her changing before my eyes with each passing day, I am reminded of just how important it is to make the absolute most out of every second. Because that time spent together is priceless. How Should A Physique Freak Handle An All-Inclusive Vacation?

By Scott Tousignant on June 9, 2017

diet break

If you’re a Physique Freak like me, who trains most days of the week and is very diligent with their nutrition, a vacation can do your body and your mind a world of good.

Especially when it’s an all-inclusive vacation where you don’t have to think about food prep or washing Tupperware containers.

A full week void of demands and time constraints, allowing you to completely relax while going through your days at a leisurely pace, is certain to ‘recharge your batteries’.

Leaving you feeling refreshed and invigorated.

This is your time to deload and de-stress.

If you’re trying to track every macro that goes into your mouth, you are vacationing wrong.

The advice I share with my clients and put into practice myself is to, View Full Post… Click Here!

Mechanical Advantage Supersets To Get More Out Of Your Workouts

By Scott Tousignant on June 7, 2017

Mechanical Advantage Superset

There’s a reason why us experienced bro’s have so much fun in the gym while continuing to make progress decade after decade…

We have no shortage of ‘tricks’ in our bag of training techniques and we utilize all of them.

Sure us meatheads have our favourite muscle pumping strategies that we tend to insert into our workout programs more often than others. This is why we always feel like a kid on Christmas morning when we remember a training technique that we haven’t performed in years.

I had this experience recently when I was reminded by my Physique Mastery Movement co-coach and bro I know with the biggest bag of bodybuilding ‘tricks’, Bryan Krahn, about Mechanical Advantage Supersets.

Mechanical Advantage Supersets target a single muscle group and are another fun way to extend a set, increasing growth inducing metabolic stress.

Here’s how they’re done…

cut and jacked over 50

Building a ripped and muscular physique over 50 requires smart training that invigorates you rather than beat you down.

Managing muscle damage and recovery is absolutely paramount.

You need to be a little more diligent with your nutrition, but this doesn’t mean you have to give up your beer on the weekend. You can still enjoy your favourite foods within reason.

If you’re over 50 and looking for some motivation to get in the best shape of your life, check out my workout partner Rick, who’s now more cut and jacked than he’s ever been… View Full Post… Click Here!

Lightweight Bodybuilder In A Jacked Bro’s World

By Scott Tousignant on May 11, 2017

Lightweight bodybuilder

When was the last time you saw a bodybuilder who weighed less than 150 pounds on the cover of a fitness magazine?

It’s likely you’ve never seen one. And that’s unfortunate, because these are some of the smartest and hardest working bro’s in the business.

They’ve had to fight tooth and nail for every ounce of muscle gained.

They’ve had to learn the tricks of the trade to maximize every bit of muscle building potential from every rep they perform.

And in spite of their lack in gravitational pull, their physiques can be equally impressive as any 200 plus pound beast.

For example, View Full Post… Click Here!
